Wong Yen Hong

Machine Learning Engineer at Grab. CS graduate from MMU, Class of 2025. Passionate about cool algorithms and building real-world systems.

During my undergrad, I conducted research at the ViPr Lab for my final-year project on aesthetic image cropping, supervised by Dr. Wong Lai Kuan. This work was published in the MIPI Workshop at ICCV and received the Best FYP award.

Outside of academia, I've completed two internships focused on machine learning. At MoneyLion, I interned as a Data Scientist, where I focused on improving the transaction categorizer model for long-tail categories. At Grab, I interned as a Machine Learning Engineer, where I built tools to streamline data scientists' workflows and developed distributed training pipelines.

I enjoy coding competitively and building cool side projects. Always open to discussing ML, tech, or collaboration opportunities.
